Learn how to play the violin from scratch! We’ll start out learning some simple pieces from the Suzuki series of books. This selection of pieces teaches you the basics of violin with each piece getting a little harder than the last. Alongside this we can attempt some of the music you love, but having this firm grasp on the fundamentals will get your violin journey of to a great start!
Once you’ve got a firm grasp of the fundamentals there’s a few new options available to you. We can continue through the Suzuki book and the ABRSM grading if you’d like, or we could look at some of the other styles you can try now. Whether it’s Bluegrass, Irish Fiddle or Gypsy Jazz (to name some popular violin styles) we can start specialising and finding out the musician you will become.
If you’re interested in lessons as a more advanced player we’d be best suited if you’re wanting to learn to improvise or improve on your improvising skills. Be that gypsy jazz, pop, blues or latin styles, get in touch and we’ll see if we’re a good fit.
For advanced Classical players (those past grade 8) feel free to get in touch and I might be able to refer you to someone more experienced in that field.
